With over 20,000 subscribers, Journal of Marital and Family
Therapy (JMFT) is the best known and most influential family therapy
journal in the world. Maintaining JMFT as a scholarly journal of the
highest quality depends on reviewers with a high level of expertise
and an ability to be objective, balanced, and insightful in their
evaluation of the work of others. To this end, I am always
interested in identifying individuals with these qualities and who
are willing to make the commitment to review articles and books for
JMFT.
As in the journal itself, I am striving to achieve balance on the
Board in terms of area of interest, racial and cultural background,
identification with the practice or the profession, and expertise in
qualitative and/or quantitative research. JMFT of necessity has a
broad focus, reflective of its diverse constituencies. In addition
to its already excellent content on clinical theory, practice
issues, and education, my goal is to strengthen the journal in the
area of clinical research on family systems intervention and service
delivery.
If you would like to be considered as a JMFT reviewer, please
complete the online
Reviewer Information Sheet
and send the completed information sheet, along with
your current curriculum vitae, as attached files to
jmft@nsu.nova.edu.
Upon receipt, the associate editors and I will review your
credentials and let you know our decision as soon as it is rendered.
If you are selected to join our community of reviewers, you will
be expected to review 1 to 2 new manuscripts a year, in addition to
reviewing resubmissions. You will be asked via e-mail whether or not
you are willing to review a specific manuscript. We are encouraging
electronic submission of manuscripts, but for now you may choose to
either have the manuscript e-mailed to you as an attachment or
mailed as a hard copy. Reviews are expected to be returned within
four weeks and we prefer them to be returned as an e-mail
attachment.
If you have any questions regarding this opportunity, please let
me know. I look forward to hearing from you!
